- Start your own therapy or Al-Anon work now. Don't wait until they come home. The parallel healing happening in both of you will give the relationship a much better foundation.

Research consistently shows that the 30–90 days following discharge from residential treatment carry the highest risk of relapse. This is when the structure of treatment disappears, real life returns, and all the old triggers come rushing back.
